The main areas of interest include the innervation of blood vessels and viscera, autonomic ganglia, efferent and afferent autonomic pathways, and autonomic nuclei and pathways in the central nervous system.The Editors will consider papers that deal with any aspect of the autonomic nervous system, including structure, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, development, evolution, ageing, behavioural aspects, integrative role and influence on emotional and physical states of the body. Interdisciplinary studies will be encouraged. Studies dealing with human pathology will be also welcome.The journal publishes Special Issues in which leading experts are invited to serve as Guest Editors to compile a collection of reviews, and occasionally original articles, around a particular topical theme in neuroscience research. Official Organ of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology, the Brazilian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, the Czech Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, and the International Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology.SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL: Clinical Neurophysiology is dedicated to publishing scholarly reports on the pathophysiology underlying diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system of humans. Reports on clinical trials that use neurophysiological measures as endpoints are encouraged, as are manuscripts on integrated neuroimaging of peripheral and central nervous function including, but not limited to, functional MRI, brain mapping, MEG, EEG, PET, ultrasound, and other neuroimaging modalities. Studies on normal human neurophysiology are welcome, if they are relevant to disease or clinical applications. Studies on animals and technical reports must have clear applicability to human disease. Case reports may be considered (exclusively as Letters-to-the-Editor), if implying substantial advancement of knowledge.Clinical Neurophysiology covers epilepsy, developmental clinical neurophysiology, psychophysiology and psychopathology, motor control and movement disorders, somatosensory disorders including pain, motor neuron diseases, neuromuscular diseases, neuropathies, sleep and disorders of consciousness, auditory and vestibular disorders, aging, Alzheimer's disease, other dementias, other psychiatric disorders, autonomic disorders, neural plasticity and recovery, intraoperative and ICU monitoring, and therapeutic clinical neurophysiology including non-invasive and invasive brain stimulation.All studies published in Clinical Neurophysiology must stand on their own and make a substantial contribution to the literature. Clinical Neurophysiology Practice is a companion journal to Clinical NeurophysiologyClinical Neurophysiology Practice (CNP) is a new Open Access journal that focuses on clinical practice issues in clinical neurophysiology including relevant new research, case reports or clinical series, normal values and didactic reviews. It is an official journal of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology and complements Clinical Neurophysiology which focuses on innovative research in the specialty. It has a role in supporting established clinical practice, and an educational role for trainees, technicians and practitioners.Types of manuscripts for consideration include: educational reviews and expert-consensus clinical practice guidelines, original research papers (including papers reporting normative data), extended case reports, systematic reviews, editorials, and Letters to the Editor.As a journal devoted to education and evidence-based clinical practice in the specialty, the priorities for Clinical Neurophysiology Practice differ from those of our companion IFCN journal Clinical Neurophysiology. Novelty is a critical issue for research-focused journals such as Clinical Neurophysiology, but is less important for Clinical Neurophysiology Practice. Quality papers may be rejected by research-focused journals because the studies do not report new advances in knowledge or are of low (research) impact, or because studies are deemed incremental, confirmatory, negative or outside journal priorities. However in clinical practice negative studies may be just as important as positive studies, and well-conceived papers reporting negative data or confirmatory results are welcome because clinical advances need confirmation before they are introduced into clinical care. Similarly, case reports can be particularly educational and are welcome. Case reports must have a neurophysiological focus and illustrate the diagnostic process, using figures that are of high quality. These reports are not specifically limited in length, the number of figures or the number of references.

The aim of the journal is to provide a forum for papers concerned with basic peripheral and central auditory mechanisms. Emphasis is on experimental and clinical studies, but theoretical and methodological papers will also be considered. The journal publishes original research papers, review and mini- review articles, rapid communications, method/protocol and perspective articles.Papers submitted should deal with auditory anatomy, physiology, psychophysics, imaging, modeling and behavioural studies in animals and humans, as well as hearing aids and cochlear implants. Papers dealing with the vestibular system are also considered for publication. Papers on comparative aspects of hearing and on effects of drugs and environmental contaminants on hearing function will also be considered. Neuromuscular Disorders is the official Journal of the World Muscle Society an international, multidisciplinary, scientific society, dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of neuromuscular disorders.The journal is a platform for clinical academics and scientists to publish their research results from studies on neuromuscular diseases including acquired and hereditary diseases that affect the muscle, the neuromuscular junction or the lower motor neuron.The research articles may include clinical aspects, such as new clinical entities, progress in diagnostics, treatment and management or research on cell or animal models of relevance to the clinical conditions.Review articles by renowned clinical academics or scientists on the topics mentioned above are welcome. Review articles by uncredited contributors will not be accepted.Reports from international workshops may be considered especially when they include consensus on guidelines regarding diagnostics, nomenclature, treatment outcome measures or other research strategies of general international interest.Case reports will only be considered if they provide an in-depth analysis of specific neuromuscular disorders that could serve as exemplary models for future research in the field. Neuropharmacology publishes high quality, original research within the discipline of neuroscience. The emphasis of Neuropharmacology is on the study and understanding of the actions of known exogenous and endogenous chemical agents on neurobiological processes in the mammalian nervous system. Work with non-mammalian and invertebrate species may be considered in exceptional circumstances. The journal does not usually accept clinical research, although neuropharmacological studies in humans may be considered on the condition that they provide novel insight into either the actions of drugs and/or neurobiological mechanisms. The journal only considers submissions in which the chemical structures and compositions of experimental agents are readily available in the literature or disclosed by the authors in the submitted manuscript. Similarly, manuscripts describing the use of natural products will only be considered if the active ingredient is known and disclosed.The journal publishes Special Issues in which leading experts are invited to serve as Guest Editors to compile a collection of reviews, and occasionally original articles, around a particular topical theme in neuroscience research. These reviews are commissioned by the Editorial Team or arise after correspondence with potential authors. Unsolicited reviews will be considered, but authors are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief of their intention to submit a review. Potential review authors should clearly indicate in the cover letter their expertise in the area, the timeliness of the topic, and how the review differs from, and adds to, recent published reviews on related topics. Authors are expected to have an established experimental track record in the topic of the review, and should provide full citations, including URLs/DOIs, of recent experimental papers in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the topic of the review in their cover letter. In the absence of an experimental track record, authors should provide a justification for why they believe they are the right persons to author this review article at this point in time. The absence of any such evidence of relevant experimental expertise or an explanation of author appropriateness will result in the return of the manuscript to the authors. On the basis of the case made by authors, potential overlap with planned Neuropharmacology content, and discussions with the Editorial Team, the Editor-in-Chief will provide authors with a prompt decision regarding the proposed review. Systematic reviews, meta- or bibliographic analyses will not be considered unless they are a necessary part of a Special Issue and conducted by experts in the field, and even then only under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
