Journals in Neurochemistry

This selection explores neurotransmitter systems, signaling molecules, and metabolic pathways in the nervous system. Supporting neuroscientists, pharmacologists, and biochemists, it features research on neurochemical regulation, neurotoxicity, and therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.

  • Steroids

    • ISSN: 0039-128X
STEROIDS is an international research journal devoted to studies on all chemical and biological aspects of steroidal moieties. The journal focuses on both experimental and theoretical studies on the biology, chemistry, biosynthesis, metabolism, molecular biology, physiology and pharmacology of steroids and other molecules that target or regulate steroid receptors. Manuscripts presenting clinical research related to steroids, steroid drug development, comparative endocrinology of steroid hormones, investigations on the mechanism of steroid action and steroid chemistry are all appropriate for submission for peer review. STEROIDS publishes both original research and timely reviews. For details concerning the preparation of manuscripts see Instructions to Authors, which is published in each issue of the journal.
  • Progress in Neurobiology

    • ISSN: 0301-0082
Progress in Neurobiology is an international journal that publishes groundbreaking original research, comprehensive review articles and opinion pieces written by leading researchers. The journal welcomes contributions from the broad field of neuroscience that apply neurophysiological, biochemical, pharmacological, molecular biological, anatomical, computational and behavioral analyses to problems of molecular, cellular, developmental, systems, and clinical neuroscience.Researc... categoriesBasic Research: Research addressing the fundamental principles, mechanisms, and basic neurobiological processes that underlie the nervous system.Disease-relat... Research related to neurological diseases or disorders, including disease-related basic research (involving animal and cell models), translational research, and clinical research.
  • Neuron

    • ISSN: 0896-6273
Neuron publishes high-quality research across the full spectrum of the neurosciences, from molecular and cellular mechanisms in model organisms to systems-level studies of human cognition and behavior. Our scope is comprehensive and adaptable, encompassing molecular, cellular, and developmental neurobiology; psychiatric and neurological disease; systems neuroscience; perception, emotion, and higher cognitive processes; and theoretical and computational work relevant to artificial intelligence. In addition to primary research, Neuron publishes reviews and commentaries, including contributions that explore the interface between neuroscience, society, and emerging technologies. • Neurochemistry International

    • ISSN: 0197-0186
The Journal of Cellular and Molecular NeuroscienceNeuroche... International is devoted to the rapid publication of outstanding original articles and timely reviews in neurochemistry. Manuscripts on a broad range of topics will be considered, including molecular and cellular neurochemistry, neuropharmacology and genetic aspects of CNS function, neuroimmunology, metabolism as well as the neurochemistry of neurological and psychiatric disorders of the CNS.The journal publishes Special Issues in which leading experts are invited to serve as Guest Editors to compile a collection of reviews, and occasionally original articles, around a particular topical theme in neuroscience research. The list of recent Special Issues can be found here. Suggestions for Special Issues can be made directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Neurobiology of Aging

    • ISSN: 0197-4580
Neurobiology of Aging publishes the results of studies in behavior, biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, morphology, neurology, neuropathology, pharmacology, physiology and protein chemistry in which the primary emphasis involves mechanisms of nervous system changes with age or diseases associated with age. Reviews and primary research articles are included, occasionally accompanied by open peer commentary. Letters to the Editor and brief communications are also acceptable. Brief reports of highly time-sensitive material are usually treated as rapid communications in which case editorial review is completed within six weeks and publication scheduled for the next available issue. The accepted abbreviation for Neurobiology of Aging for bibliographic citation is Neurobiol. AgingPlease see this Editorial for additional information specific to Neurobiology of Aging. Authors are also welcome to submit their manuscripts to the journal's open access companion title, Aging Brain.
