Acta Tropica is an international journal on infectious diseases that covers public health sciences, medical and veterinary entomology, and biomedical research with particular emphasis on topics relevant to human and animal health.Its scope includes the biology of pathogens and vectors, host-parasite relationships, mechanisms of pathogenicity, clinical disease and chemotherapy. We welcome contributions in basic or applied research in disciplines such as epidemiology, disease ecology, diagnostics, interventions and control, drug and insecticide resistance, mathematical modelling, public health and social sciences, climate change, parasite and vector taxonomy, biology, ecology and behaviour, host and parasite genomics, biochemistry, immunology, and vaccine testing.Contribution... may be in the form of original research papers, review articles, short communications, opinion articles, or letters to the Editors.Only manuscripts of high scientific significance and innovation will be considered for publication. Criteria for rejection without review:• Out of scope.• Manuscripts of minimal international relevance, including regional reports and studies of local interest.• Case reports.• Parasite and vector control strategies at very early inconclusive laboratory stages of development. For vector control studies, field validation is required.• Field studies not replicated at least over two years. • Studies dealing with natural products (e.g., plant extracts) not characterized from a chemical point of view.• Ethical issues, including plagiarism, submission of the manuscript to multiple journals, and lack of ethical approval where needed.Important Guidelines for AcceptanceEditors and the Editorial Board of Acta Tropica provide the following guidelines to help authors prepare manuscripts of high quality that can be considered for publication. If reviewed favourably and the authors seriously address all concerns, then chances of acceptance are increased. Review and Opinion articles may be invited by the Editors in Chief or submitted by authors responding to a recognized need. Reviews are expected to carefully synthesize and discuss the literature and make recommendations to advance respective scientific fields. Reviews and Opinions submitted by authors without research experience on the topic covered by the manuscript will not be considered. American Journal of Preventive Medicine
The American Journal of Preventive Medicine is the official journal of the American College of Preventive Medicine and the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research. It publishes articles in the areas of prevention research, teaching, practice and policy. Original research is published on interventions aimed at the prevention of chronic and acute disease and the promotion of individual and community health.Of particular emphasis are papers that address the primary and secondary prevention of important clinical, behavioral and public health issues such as injury and violence, infectious disease, women's health, smoking, sedentary behaviors and physical activity, nutrition, diabetes, obesity, and substance use disorders. Papers also address educational initiatives aimed at improving the ability of health professionals to provide effective clinical prevention and public health services. Papers on health services research pertinent to prevention and public health are also published. The journal also publishes official policy statements from the two co-sponsoring organizations, review articles, media reviews, and editorials. Finally, the journal periodically publishes supplements and special theme issues devoted to areas of current interest to the prevention community.

Antiviral Research aims to publish manuscripts in the field of prevention and treatment of viral diseases in humans and vertebrate animals, and encourages authors to the submit manuscripts describing the activity of well-defined chemical compounds for the treatment of viral diseases. The journal is an Official Publication of the International Society for Antiviral Research. The types of papers published in Antiviral Research includes original research reports, short communications, commentaries and invited review* articles on the control of viral infections in humans. All papers must include a sufficiently detailed description of methods to permit other investigators to replicate the experiments. Authors reporting the antiviral effect of a novel small-molecule drug must reveal its chemical structure. Claims of in vitro or in vivo efficacy of a drug or vaccine must be supported by appropriate statistical analysis that must be clearly described in the manuscript.Antiviral Research journal does not publish reports on viral diseases of plants or of insects, crustaceans or other invertebrates. Studies of viral diseases of livestock and companion animals must be clearly related to the development of realistic therapies. Papers on veterinary vaccines should report findings in the target animal species.We discourage the submission of manuscripts reporting the antiviral activity of unpurified natural products, or of partially purified substances of natural origin for which a mechanism of action has not been determined. Manuscripts claiming an antiviral effect of homeopathic products or other highly diluted preparations, or which fail to clearly identify the biological ingredient or molecule responsible for the antiviral activity of an experimental therapy, will not be considered for publication. Articles describing antiseptics with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity will not be accepted. We discourage the submission of in silico docking studies or other computer-based predictions of antiviral activity that are not supported by data from biological assays. Citations of reports that have not undergone peer review must include the note "[not peer-reviewed]."ISAR members Authors who are ISAR members are encouraged to contact ISAR after their paper has been accepted for publication in order to benefit from their published work being highlighted in ISAR postings on their social media platforms (further details on this will be given in the AVR acceptance letter). *Antiviral Research journal has started a new initiative to publish at least two thematic special issues per year, containing invited reviews in addition to the ad hoc invitations to experts in the areas within the scope of the journal.

An International Journal focused on Comparative Veterinary and Medical ResearchComparative Immunology, Microbiology & Infectious Diseases aims to respond to the concept of "One Medicine - One Health" and to provide a venue for scientific exchange. Based on the concept of "Comparative Medicine" interdisciplinary cooperation between specialists in human and animal medicine is of mutual interest and benefit. Therefore, there is need to combine the respective interest of physicians, veterinarians and other health professionals for comparative studies relevant to either human or animal medicine .CIMID is mainly focusing on applied veterinary medicine with a particular focus on zoonotic pathogens. It includes etiology, biology, clinical diseases, epidemiology, diagnosis, control. Experimental in vitro studies and studies on laboratory animals are generally not accepted. Non infectious diseases are not accepted. Specific focus on human diseases can only be accepted if it concerns major zoonotic pathogens. Reviews are generally not accepted, except if they contain new or recent developments. CIMID does not accept manuscript focusing on Mycology.The journal is open to subjects of common interest related to the immunology, immunopathology, microbiology, parasitology and epidemiology of human and animal infectious diseases, especially zoonotic infections, and animal models of human infectious diseases. The role of environmental factors in disease emergence is emphasized. CIMID is mainly focusing on applied veterinary and human medicine rather than on fundamental experimental research.Original research papers of high quality and novelty on aspects of host response, molecular biology, pathogenesis, control and prevention and treatment of microbial and parasitic diseases of domestic animals and wildlife (if the infections are of zoonotic interest and/or in relation with domestic animals and/or can serve as a model for human diseases). Papers dealing primarily with epidemiology will be considered if they demonstrate a clear impact on the clinical features, pathogenesis or prevention of a disease. Similarly, articles addressing microbiology, parasitology, immunology or pathogenesis must address issues of comparative medical interest. Manuscripts focusing on probiotics or diseases and/or immunology of fishes are not part of our overall scope, as they are better fitted to more specialized journals. Manuscripts dealing with food hygiene and food risk are not part of our overall scope. Manuscripts dealing strictly with experimental design and fundamental research may not be considered depending the overall consequences for the knowledge of a disease.Review articles can be accepted. They should focus either on a pathogen or on analyses of the mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions including epidemiological studies. Proposal for such manuscripts should be submitted to the Co-Editors in Chief for approval before submitting the manuscript.Papers focusing solely on diagnostic techniques, case reports or drug trials will generally not be accepted. Papers of geographically limited interest, which repeat what had been established elsewhere, will not be considered. The readership of the journal is global. The Editors reserve the right to suggest submission to another journal for those papers which they feel would be more appropriate for consideration by that journal.Papers will be rejected if standards of care of, or procedures performed on animals are not beyond those expected of humane veterinary care.
