Current Problems in Cancer
Current Problems in Cancer seeks to promote and disseminate innovative, transformative, and impactful data on patient-oriented cancer research and clinical care. Specifically, the journal's scope is focused on reporting the results of well-designed cancer studies that influence/alter practice or identify new directions in translational and clinical cancer research. These studies can include novel therapeutic approaches, new strategies for early diagnosis, cancer clinical trials, and supportive care, among others. Pre-clinical studies are discouraged. Basic, Translational, and Clinical Research in NeuromodulationAbout Brain StimulationBrain Stimulation is the premier journal for publishing research in the field of neuromodulation. The journal includes: a) original articles; b) invited and original reviews or commentaries; and c) letters to the Editor. Special issues of the journal will be considered based on scientific merit.Brain Stimulation publishes original work across the entire field of brain stimulation, including noninvasive and invasive techniques and technologies that alter brain function using electrical, magnetic, radiowave, sound, light, focally targeted pharmacologic stimulation, or any other physical method to directly alter neural function. This includes investigations that study the effects of brain stimulation on basic processes, such as gene expression and other aspects of molecular biology, neurochemical regulation, functional brain activity, sensorimotor function, and cognitive and affective processes at the systems level. Interacting with the brain through normal sensory routes (e.g. vision, sound, touch, smell) is not defined as brain stimulation for this journal. As an equal partner with this basic emphasis, the journal has strong representation of research on the therapeutic potential and adverse effects of the stimulation technologies. Research in therapeutics includes not only clinical trials, but also conceptual pieces, discussions of ethics as they pertain to this field, services research, and epidemiology.The journal also publishes the highest level of research on the biophysics and biopsychophysics of stimulation paradigms, as well as the use of these techniques as a probe to outline patterns of neural connectivity. The journal will consider any form of neuromodulation that impacts on brain processes. Spinal cord stimulation or peripheral nerve stimulation will be considered only if behavioral effects are mediated by a central brain mechanism. As the average human life expectancy has increased, so too has the impact of ageing and age-related disease on our society. Ageing research is now the focus of thousands of laboratories that include leaders in the areas of genetics, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and behaviour. Ageing Research Reviews (ARR) covers the trends in this field. It is designed to fill a large void, namely, a source for critical reviews and viewpoints on emerging findings on mechanisms of ageing and age-related disease. The aim of Neuropeptides is the rapid publication of original research and review articles, dealing with the structure, distribution, actions and functions of peptides in the central and peripheral nervous systems. The explosion of research activity in this field has led to the identification of numerous naturally occurring endogenous peptides which act as neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, or trophic factors, to mediate nervous system functions. Increasing numbers of non-peptide ligands of neuropeptide receptors have been developed, which act as agonists or antagonists in peptidergic systems.The journal provides a unique opportunity of integrating the many disciplines involved in all neuropeptide research. Based on the concept of "Comparative Medicine" interdisciplinary cooperation between specialists in human and animal medicine is of mutual interest and benefit. Therefore, there is need to combine the respective interest of physicians, veterinarians and other health professionals for comparative studies relevant to either human or animal medicine .CIMID is mainly focusing on applied veterinary medicine with a particular focus on zoonotic pathogens. It includes etiology, biology, clinical diseases, epidemiology, diagnosis, control. Experimental in vitro studies and studies on laboratory animals are generally not accepted. Non infectious diseases are not accepted. Specific focus on human diseases can only be accepted if it concerns major zoonotic pathogens. Reviews are generally not accepted, except if they contain new or recent developments. CIMID does not accept manuscript focusing on Mycology.The journal is open to subjects of common interest related to the immunology, immunopathology, microbiology, parasitology and epidemiology of human and animal infectious diseases, especially zoonotic infections, and animal models of human infectious diseases. The role of environmental factors in disease emergence is emphasized. CIMID is mainly focusing on applied veterinary and human medicine rather than on fundamental experimental research.Original research papers of high quality and novelty on aspects of host response, molecular biology, pathogenesis, control and prevention and treatment of microbial and parasitic diseases of domestic animals and wildlife (if the infections are of zoonotic interest and/or in relation with domestic animals and/or can serve as a model for human diseases). Papers dealing primarily with epidemiology will be considered if they demonstrate a clear impact on the clinical features, pathogenesis or prevention of a disease. Manuscripts focusing on probiotics or diseases and/or immunology of fishes are not part of our overall scope, as they are better fitted to more specialized journals. Mental Health and Physical Activity is an international forum for scholarly reports on any aspect of relevance to advancing our understanding of the relationship between mental health and physical activity. We prioritize studies involving clinical populations, especially those with clearly stated and immediate treatment implications. Please note that papers which focus exclusively on mental health, or exclusively on physical activity, will not be considered. Manuscripts will be considered for publication which deal with high quality research, comprehensive research reviews, and critical reflection of applied or research issues. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches.
