Preventive Veterinary Medicine: Regional Studies and Reports, a companion to the established Preventive Veterinary Medicine, focuses on accurate research addressing regional issues in veterinary epidemiology, disease prevention, and control. Recognizing the importance of localized data in a globalized world, this journal welcomes submissions that contribute to understanding and managing animal health challenges within specific regions.
The journal covers all aspects of disease prevention, epidemiology, and control of infectious and parasitic diseases in domestic and wild animals, with an emphasis on regional relevance and practical applications. Case reports that provide valuable insights into local disease outbreaks and control measures are also encouraged (these should be concise and demonstrate a clear impact on veterinary practice).
Scope includes:
Studies on regional disease outbreaks, epidemiology, and control strategies for infectious and parasitic diseases in domestic and wild animals.
Research on wildlife species with direct implications for veterinary medicine and regional animal health management.
Investigations into vector-borne diseases, zoonoses, and environmental health issues within specific regions.
Contributions on disease transmission, risk factors, and regional control measures, especially when they inform local veterinary institutes and organizations.
The journal encourages the submission of clinical and field-trial studies, particularly those related to new vaccines and other preventive measures. These studies, however, should follow the Consort Statement (http://www.consort-statement.org) or Reflect Statement (http://reflect-statement.org).
Research on experimental development of diagnostic assays without field evaluation, or studies not directly relevant to regional issues, are generally not within scope. The focus is on research that provides regional insights and supports local veterinary communities in solving regional health challenges.
