Description

The journal Plant Research is an international, peer-reviewed forum dedicated to advancing the understanding of plant biology through integrative and interdisciplinary research. The journal welcomes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, method papers, and short communications that address fundamental and applied questions in plant physiology using integrative approaches with genetics, omics sciences, gene expression, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, systems biology, and environmental physiology. Papers dealing with system biology of algae will also be considered.

Plant Research welcomes high-quality manuscripts related (but not limited) to:

  • Seed germination

  • Plant growth and development

  • Photosynthesis

  • Metabolism

  • Signal transduction

  • Plant-microbe interactions

  • Biotic and abiotic stress responses

  • Synthetic biology

  • Bioactive compounds from plant sources

Studies incorporating state-of-the-art methodologies such as gene editing, functional genomics, and advanced biochemical and physiological analyses are especially encouraged. Papers dealing with genome-wide analysis of a gene family and its relationship with the acquisition of stress tolerance will also be considered. Submissions must present clear hypotheses and reproducible experimental designs that bridge molecular and cellular mechanisms with whole-plant, providing a comprehensive understanding of plant physiological processes and their role in agriculture, ecosystem dynamics, and biotechnology.
