The Peace and Sustainability journal is a platform for advancing research and discourse on the nexus between peace and sustainability. The goal is to promote systemic approaches that capture the complex and dynamic interrelations between human and ecological concerns and develop evidence-based and policy-relevant solutions toward more peaceful and sustainable futures.
Since 2018, the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS) at Hiroshima University has been facilitating transdisciplinary research through its global network of scholars and practitioners. Peace and Sustainability is the network's flagship journal for publishing research with inter/multi/transdisciplinary approaches and perspectives. Manuscripts that focus on either peace or sustainability are expected to discuss sufficiently their research or policy implications for the peace-sustainability nexus.
In addition to original research articles and systematic review articles, we also welcome policy forums and short communications. Research and review articles should be no more than 8,000 words, exclusive of references, appendices, and notes. Policy forum is a collection of 3-5 policy-oriented papers and should be no more than 8,000 words in total, exclusive of references. Short communications are 1,000-1,500-word commentaries, viewpoints, or research letters.
Peace and Sustainability is a hybrid journal that offers authors two choices to publish their research. See supports open access for more information on how to publish your research via subscription (without Article Publishing Charge) or open access.
