The journal will accept submissions from across the full range of preventive and therapeutic medicine and surgery. The major focus will remain on a public health approach. The journal takes a global view of disease and health encouraging submissions that look at priority health problems and those that take a global, national, or regional focus on health problems, quality of life, and disease prevention or treatment. Articles from authors in all countries exploring the burden of diseases in their own constituencies are welcome. The journal welcomes seven major categories of articles including original research papers, reviews, brief research reports, clinical case reports, commentaries, editorials, and letters to the editor on urgent issues pertinent to medicine, surgery, and public health facing national and regional communities.
