Description

Journal of Integrative Agriculture continues with the same aims and scope, editorial team, submission system and rigorous peer review.

Journal of Integrative Agriculture publishes manuscripts in the categories of Commentary, Review, Research Article, Letter and Short Communication, focusing on the core subjects: Crop Science, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Agro-Ecosystem and Environment, Food Science, Agricultural Economics and Management, Agricultural Information Science

Crop Science

  • Crop Breeding & Sustainable Production

  • Crop Genetics & Genomics

  • Gene Discovery & Breeding

  • AI Application in Genomics & Breeding

  • Molecular Physiology & Ecology

  • Crop Cultivation and Farming System

  • Crop and Environment Interaction and Adaptation

  • Physiological Mechanisms Underlying High-yield and High-efficiency Crop Production

  • AI in Crop Cultivation & Farming System

Horticulture

  • Horticultural crop (major vegetable and fruit crops) genetics, breeding, germplasm resources

  • Horticultural crop (major vegetable and fruit crops) cultivation, physiology, biochemistry

Plant Protection

Plant Pathology:

  • Biological Control: explore the mechanisms of biological control, emphasizing the necessity of comprehensive mechanistic investigations rather than relying solely on phenotypic assessments or omics-based approaches

  • Plant Immunity and Disease Resistance; Plant Viruses; Weed Science, etc.

Entomology:

  • Molecular mechanisms and evolutionary dynamics of insecticide resistance

  • Functional elucidation of insect-microbe symbiotic relationships; Insect population dynamics and niche

  • Insect population dynamics and niche reconstruction under climate change; Gene drive technology and precise genetic regulation

  • Precision and industrial upgrading of biological control technologies

  • Intelligent monitoring and early warning technology systems

  • Breakthroughs in field application of RNAi technology

  • Omics research on agricultural/invasive insects (requiring functional validation and field trail)

Not in our scope:

Manuscripts that focus exclusively on genomic sequencing, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, or microbiome sequencing without providing mechanistic insights will not be considered for publication. Omics-derived data should be accompanied by experimental details that elucidate the underlying mechanisms, moving beyond mere descriptive accounts.

Animal Science

  • Gene Editing: required to be as tool-like

  • Breeding Chip: focused on traits, and the sequencing data should be originally published. Quantitative traits are used to determine whether eQTL affects expression and are verified through experiments; functional verification of genes and expression verification of regulatory elements

  • Resequencing: more than 6-7 varieties and no less than 20 individuals/varieties; >100 individuals for quality traits and >300 individuals for complex quantitative traits

  • Transcriptomics and Other Multi-omics: >200 individuals; or a complete set of multi-omics datasets, e.g., 100 genomes+transcriptomes; functional verification of genes and expression verification of regulatory elements are required

  • Animal Nutritional Metabolism and Regulation: Animal nutritional requirements; Feed nutritional value; Nutrition and immunity; Nutrition and antioxidant and anti-stress; Nutrition and microbiology; Nutrition and health or environment

Veterinary Medicine

  • Hot research fields include systematic epidemiology, pathogenic mechanisms, and prevention and control technology development on important zoonotic infectious diseases and major infectious diseases of livestock and poultry, such as highly pathogenic avian influenza, ASF, PRRS, and important bacterial and parasitic diseases.

Not in our scope:

Some basic research papers, such as those on the mechanism of pathogen-host interaction and signaling pathways, are more suitable for professional journals.

Agro-Ecosystem & Environment

  • Plant nutrition and new fertilizers

  • Research on soil fertility and C-N-P cycling mechanisms

  • Long-term regulation of soil fertility and water effects in farmland

  • Farmland pollution and remediation

  • Reuse of agricultural resources in farmland

  • Exploration of scientific frontiers in long-term positioning experiments

  • Agricultural resource (farmland & farmland soil) survey, monitoring and evaluation

Food Science (focusing on grain, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables, livestock and poultry)

  • Multidimensional quality evaluation and multi-omics analysis

  • Postharvest physiology of fruits and vegetables and intelligent preservation

  • Green processing and high value utilization of by-products

  • Functional factor mining and precision nutrition

  • Quality safety and rapid detection

  • Intelligent manufacturing and biosynthesis

Agricultural Economics and Management

empirical studies with policy guiding significance, focusing on the following themes to promote domestic and international discussions on the economy and policies of agriculture and food:

  • Agricultural science and technology economy and policy

  • Food economy and agricultural policy

  • Agricultural green development and policy
