It aims to advance theoretical and/or methodological development related to data and information across various domains, including but not limited to business, academia, government, health, education, finance, marketing, and the Internet. DIM encourages and prioritizes submissions from a wide range of disciplines, such as library and information science, information systems, computer science, management, communication, and other related fields. The primary mission of DIM is to drive effective management of diverse data and information through cutting-edge research, ultimately fostering social development and enhancing human well-being.
More specifically, DIM is particularly interested in the following types of submissions (Authors are also encouraged to provide specific details on these points in the cover letter):
Manuscripts with a clear interdisciplinary nature, intended to appeal to readership from at least 2-3 different disciplines, and must include the discipline of Library and Information Science.
Manuscripts that are topical, addressing important contemporary issues and capable of generating broad academic interest.
Manuscripts containing unique and large-scale datasets, uncovering hidden patterns, associations and correlations, thereby providing profound insights and understanding for both academia and industry.
Manuscripts demonstrating strong theoretical or methodological contributions, alongside rigorous methods and results, are preferred. The journal does not accept purely descriptive studies or papers solely focused on practical applications. Review articles should be critical, comprehensive and in-depth, integrating prior research and providing recommendations for future studies in the field.
While DIM operates as a gold open-access (OA) journal, it imposes no fees on authors, and the Article Publishing Charge (APC) will be covered by Wuhan University. The articles published in DIM can be freely accessed, shared, downloaded, and disseminated, thereby enhancing the visibility and reach of research work featured on DIM and contributing to the academic influence of our authors.
