  • Second+ language teaching and learning

  • Sociolinguistic approaches to applied linguistics

  • Translation and interpreting

Ampersand caters to a comprehensive audience, ranging from language researchers, applied linguists, psycholinguists, educators, practitioners, policymakers, to those with a general interest in how language works in real life, including how it is learned, taught, and used in various settings. The journal aims to encourage the free exchange of information between researchers by being a forum for the constructive discussion and debate of issues in applied language studies.

The journal welcomes all types of submissions: traditional 'full' research articles based on empirical work, methodological reports, meta-analyses, short communications, case studies, and literature reviews.

Proposals for special issues that reflect current or emerging research trends in any of the coverage areas are very much welcome and should be discussed with the Editor-in-Chief ([email protected]).
