      Dean commenced at Federation University in January 2022 following tenures at University of Tasmania, Flinders University and Massey University. Dean has a well-established and respected reputation in the fields of health promotion and health education theory, policy and practice – within and outside the nursing disciplines. He is an active researcher and publisher where his main focus lies with health promotion and health education theory and practice, health policy, public health and primary healthcare; he has close to 200 theoretical/research publications in these fields.
