Food Hydrocolloids publishes original and innovative research concerned with the characterisation, functional properties and applications of hydrocolloid materials used in food products. Hydrocolloids are defined as polysaccharides and proteins of commercial importance that are added to food products to control, for example, the texture, stability, rheology and sensory properties. The key focus of the research should be on the hydrocolloid additives themselves and the source and nature of the hydrocolloids should be fully described. Details of their physicochemical characteristics must be provided such that the conclusions drawn from the study can be assessed with confidence and that the work can be repeated by others. Manuscripts should clearly outline the specific aims and objectives of the research and must include a fundamental discussion of the research findings at the molecular level and their significance. Publishing Invited ReviewsThe importance of lipids as one of the fundamental classes of biological compounds is well established. The application of our of the biochemistry, chemistry and physiology of lipids to biotechnology, the fats and oils industry and medicine have continued to expand apace. In addition new dimensions such as lipid biophysics, especially with relevance to membranes and lipoproteins, and basic liposome research and applications have been added. To cope with all these advances in knowledge a journal is needed to review recent progress in particular fields and to set current research against its historical background. Progress in Lipid Research fulfils this role.Each volume contains up-to-date surveys of special aspects of lipid research. The invited reviews are comprehensive enough to provide sufficient overview but concentrate on reporting and critically appraising the most recent data. Subjects are chosen for their timeliness or because major developments have taken place in the last few years. They include methodological reviews as well as chemical, biochemical and medical articles. All lipid compounds and derivatives are covered, ranging from fatty acids and other simple molecules, through steroids, terpenoids and phospho- or glycolipids to complex structures such as lipoproteins and biological membranes. Games and Economic Behavior (GEB) is a general-interest journal devoted to the advancement of game theory and its applications. Game theory applications cover a wide range of subjects in social, behavioral, mathematical and biological sciences, and game theoretic methodologies draw on a large variety of tools from those sciences.Publication criteria: GEB publishes general-interest papers that significantly advance the frontiers of game theory and its applications. This is a high bar, but the journal's editors are open-minded about the interpretations and trade-offs involved. For example, a paper in industrial organization that deals with corporate takeover might be of general game-theoretic interest if it contributes to our understanding of coalition formation. Similarly, the analysis of games played by computer algorithms might be relevant to modeling strategic thinking. The editors are also open-minded about the frontiers. They are happy to publish papers that, while not in currently popular areas, lead to significant new frontiers in game theory and applications. Authors are therefore encouraged to make a clear case, in the paper itself, that it meets these publication criteria. Evaluation procedure: Each paper is initially assigned by GEB's chief editor to one of the seven editors (including himself), who has final decision authority. In determining their decisions, editors consult with advisory editors and reviewers who are anonymous to the authors. The assigned editor then (non-anonymously) communicates her/his decision to the corresponding author in a decision letter, usually accompanied by one or more referees' and/or advisory editors' reports. Currently GEB publishes about 15% of the submitted papers. However, when editors decide that a submitted paper does not have a chance of meeting the journal publication criterion, they "desk-reject" the paper without going through the standard, lengthy evaluation process. Waste Management is devoted to the presentation and discussion of information on all aspects of solid waste and by-product management, under the framework of a circular economy and waste as a resource in order to close the loop. These aspects include generation, composition, collection, resource recovery and valorization (treatment), and final disposal. Also, the journal accepts manuscripts that address waste management policy, education, economic and environmental assessments (LCAs), artificial intelligence applications on solid waste management. Moreover, the journal accepts submissions on new solid waste management technologies, successful full-scale applications and Best Available Techniques examples. The journal addresses various types of solid wastes, namely: municipal (e.g., household, institutional, and commercial), agricultural, hazardous household, hazardous and non-hazardous industrial, construction and demolition, and healthcare waste, as well as dewatered sludges, spent batteries and accumulators, used vehicle tires, end of life vehicles, waste electrical and electronic equipment, textile waste, and other special solid waste streams. Note that Waste Management does not accept manuscripts focusing primarily on social or behavioral science aspects (e.g. surveys) or purely bibliometric studies. Manuscripts that focus solely on the characterization and use of a waste material in a new product are often more suitable for a journal that focuses on the material properties of the product (e.g. construction and building materials, materials science, polymer science journals). Finally, mining, metallurgical and radioactive wastes are not in the scope of the journal.The journal welcomes both fundamental and applied research that can be related to problems of interest to solid waste researchers, practitioners and/or policy makers. Environmental Impact Assessment Review (EIA Review) is a refereed, interdisciplinary journal serving a global audience of practitioners, policy-makers, regulators, academics and others with an interest in the field of impact assessment (IA) and management. Impact assessment is defined by the International Association for Impact Assessment (www.iaia.org) as the process of identifying the future consequences of a current or proposed action.For EIA Review, the field of IA can be related to as the assessment of impacts on or of the environment (including, for example, EIA and SEA), social (SIA), health (HIA), risk (RIA), human rights, equity, language, technology, products, etc. With current or proposed actions, the EIA Review audience assesses how best to evaluate the impacts of policies, projects, processes and products, and how best to make decisions and undertake management activities.The focus of EIA Review is on innovative theory and practice that encompasses any of the above mentioned impacts and activities. Scope of MSSP The scope of MSSP encompasses original research work on signal and information processing and related topics within engineering dynamics and dynamical systems, as required in Mechanical, Aerospace, and Civil Engineering. The work should focus on one (or more) of the subject areas listed below. Prospective authors must select the single best fitting subject area during manuscript submission. A. Signal processing in machine/system health monitoring B. Non-stationary and random vibration C. Time series methods D. Rotor dynamics E. Signal processing in manufacturing/machin... F. Powertrains and drivetrains G. Acoustics, waves, and SEA H. Control of vibration and noise I. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) J. Structural/system identification (including parameter estimation) K. Nonlinear vibration (including energy harvesting) L. Uncertainty quantificationM. Prognostics N. Mechanics Research Communications
Mechanics Research Communications publishes, as rapidly as possible, peer-reviewed manuscripts of high standards. Submitted manuscripts should have a clear and concise exposition that incorporates all figures, tables and references. It aims to provide:• a fast means of communication • an exchange of ideas among workers in mechanics • an effective method of bringing new results quickly to the public • an informal vehicle for the discussion • of ideas that may still be in the formative stagesThe field of Mechanics will be understood to encompass the behavior of continua, fluids, solids, particles and their mixtures. Submissions must contain a strong, novel contribution to the field of mechanics, and ideally should be focused on current issues in the field involving theoretical, experimental and/or applied research, preferably within the broad expertise encompassed by the Board of Associate Editors.
