Cell Biomaterials, a sibling journal to Cell, Matter, and Chem, targets a diverse audience of researchers in both fundamental and applied sciences within the fields of materials science, bioengineering, and biomedical applications.

The journal covers a wide range of biomaterials and bio-related research, ranging from molecular-level to macro-scale investigations, at the intersection of physical, biological, and medical sciences. The scope of the journal includes both experimental and theoretical studies (substantiated by experiments) and welcomes innovative methods of characterization and discovery.

A primary focus of the journal is on innovative materials and chemistry that interface with living systems and health, encompassing areas such as drug delivery, diagnostics, therapeutics, and overall medical well-being, as well as bioaugmented systems, bio-inspired platforms, and other bio-integrated science.

Examples of topical areas of interest to the journal include but are not limited to:

  • Bioengineered materials

  • Biofabrication

  • Biological materials

  • Electroactive and conductive biomaterials

  • Microrobots and machine-assisted tools

  • Stem cell-based strategies

  • Theoretical approaches

  • Therapeutics delivery

For novel or functionalized materials, authors are expected to present comprehensive assessments of their biological performance or a conceptual advance interfacing with biological platforms.
