Frontier research on physical phenomena in chemistry, biology and materials scienceCriteria for publication in Chemical Physics are novelty, quality and general interest in experimental and theoretical chemical physics and physical chemistry. Articles are welcome that deal with problems of electronic and structural dynamics, reaction mechanisms, fundamental aspects of catalysis, solar energy conversion and chemical reactions in general, involving atoms, molecules, proteins, clusters, surfaces, interfaces and bulk matter. Reports on new methodologies and comprehensive assessments of existing ones, as well as applications to new types of problems are especially welcome. Experimental papers are expected to be brought into relation with theory, and theoretical papers should be connected to present or future experiments. Manuscripts that apply standard methods to specific physical-chemical problems and/or to specific systems are appropriate if they report novel results for an important problem of high interest and/or if they provide significant new insights.Manuscripts describing routine use or minor extensions or modifications of established and/or published experimental and theoretical methodologies are not appropriate for the journal. In addition, manuscripts describing analytical procedures that use established spectroscopic techniques, such as for sample characterization, will not be accepted for publication, even if they appear new or improved with respect to procedures previously used.In addition to regular research papers, Chemical Physics publishes invited perspectives articles (called ChemPhys Perspectives) and Special Thematic Issues. Each Chemical Physics Special Issue provides a snapshot of the leading edge in current research of a particular field in chemical physics, and contains invited articles by specialists in that field. The objective is to create a collection of articles representative of the newest findings in a field and equivalent to that covered at a topical conference.

Frontier research in molecular sciences, materials and biological systemsChemical Physics Letters publishes brief reports on molecules, interfaces, condensed phases, nanomaterials and nanostructures, polymers, biomolecular systems, and energy conversion and storage.Criteria for publication are quality, urgency and impact. Further, experimental results reported in the journal have direct relevance for theory, and theoretical developments or non-routine computations relate directly to experiment. Journal of Luminescence is an interdisciplinary journal of research on the excited state processes on condensed matter. The journal provides a means of communication between scientists in different disciplines who share a common interest in the electronic excited states of molecular, ionic and covalent systems, whether crystalline, amorphous, or liquid. Submissions in the traditional areas of optical spectroscopy (absorption, magnetic circular dichroism, luminescence, Raman scattering, radiative & non-radiative relaxation) are welcome. Papers on applications (phosphors, scintillators, photochromism, electro- and cathodo-luminescence... radiography, bioimaging, solar energy, energy conversion, etc.) are also welcome if they present results of scientific, rather than only technological interests.The journal publishes topics including but not limited to: exciton and polariton dynamics, dynamics of localized excited states, energy and charge transport in ordered and disordered systems, vibronic interactions in electronic excited states, photophysics and photochemistry in condensed systems, excited state resonance, spin dynamics, hole burning, coherent processes in excited states, multiphoton processes, optical biostability and new techniques for the study of excited states.The journal does not accept submissions containing purely theoretical results not related to excited-state phenomena, reporting new measurements without contribution for understanding excited-state phenomena, or using luminescence spectroscopy to perform merely analytical chemistry or biochemistry procedures. Some exceptions will be possible at the discretion of the editors.

Optics Communications invites original and timely contributions containing new results in various fields of optics and photonics. The journal considers theoretical and experimental research in areas ranging from the fundamental properties of light to technological applications. Topics covered include classical and quantum optics, optical physics and light-matter interactions, lasers, imaging, guided-wave optics and optical information processing. Manuscripts should offer clear evidence of novelty and significance. Papers concentrating on mathematical and computational issues, with limited connection to optics, are not suitable for publication in the Journal. Physics Reports

A Review Section of Physics LettersThe journal Physics Reports publishes timely reviews which are more extensive than just literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph. Each report deals with one specific subject and is generally published in a separate volume. These reviews are specialist in nature but contain enough introductory material to make the main points intelligible to a non-specialist. The reader will not only be able to distinguish important developments and trends in physics but will also find a sufficient number of references to the original literature.Starting in 2025, Physics Reports will inaugurate a new "Rapid Reviews” section. Rapid Reviews are intended to be shorter reviews, which can be completed more quickly (on order three months) than regular reviews, on exciting new subjects. They are intended to reach a broader audience but go into less technical detail than a regular Physics Reports review. The target length is on order 20 pages (as opposed to regular reviews, which are intended to be more than 50 journal pages) and the reviews are intended to allow more in the way of editorializing than regular articles, which are intended to be more balanced, complete, and pedagogical. We aim to publish one such Rapid Review per month.The topics covered by the journal include but are not limited to:Astrophysics and Cosmology,Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics,Biological Physics,Condensed Matter Physics,High Energy Physics,Nanoscience,... Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics

Taking the format of four issues per year, the journal aims to discuss new developments in the field at a level suitable for the general nuclear and particle physicist and, in greater technical depth, to explore the most important advances in these areas. Most of the articles will be in one of the fields of nuclear physics, hadron physics, heavy ion physics, particle physics, as well as astrophysics and cosmology. A particular effort is made to treat topics of an interface type for which both particle and nuclear physics are important.
