Acta Tropica is an international journal on infectious diseases that covers public health sciences, medical and veterinary entomology, and biomedical research with particular emphasis on topics relevant to human and animal health.Its scope includes the biology of pathogens and vectors, host-parasite relationships, mechanisms of pathogenicity, clinical disease and chemotherapy. We welcome contributions in basic or applied research in disciplines such as epidemiology, disease ecology, diagnostics, interventions and control, drug and insecticide resistance, mathematical modelling, public health and social sciences, climate change, parasite and vector taxonomy, biology, ecology and behaviour, host and parasite genomics, biochemistry, immunology, and vaccine testing.Contribution... may be in the form of original research papers, review articles, short communications, opinion articles, or letters to the Editors.Only manuscripts of high scientific significance and innovation will be considered for publication. Criteria for rejection without review:• Out of scope.• Manuscripts of minimal international relevance, including regional reports and studies of local interest.• Case reports.• Parasite and vector control strategies at very early inconclusive laboratory stages of development. For vector control studies, field validation is required.• Field studies not replicated at least over two years. • Studies dealing with natural products (e.g., plant extracts) not characterized from a chemical point of view.• Ethical issues, including plagiarism, submission of the manuscript to multiple journals, and lack of ethical approval where needed.Important Guidelines for AcceptanceEditors and the Editorial Board of Acta Tropica provide the following guidelines to help authors prepare manuscripts of high quality that can be considered for publication. Maximize your chances of acceptance by making sure your manuscript:• Matches the scientific scope of the journal,• Follows the instructions specified in Acta Tropica guide for authors,• Presents results that significantly advance science including innovative new approaches,• Meets quality standards of presentation and literature citation,• Demonstrates potential health or biomedical impact.The above points are critical for the publication of original papers. Be aware Editors carefully evaluate initial manuscript submissions and only those meeting the above criteria will be forwarded to review. If reviewed favourably and the authors seriously address all concerns, then chances of acceptance are increased. Review and Opinion articles may be invited by the Editors in Chief or submitted by authors responding to a recognized need. Reviews are expected to carefully synthesize and discuss the literature and make recommendations to advance respective scientific fields. Reviews and Opinions submitted by authors without research experience on the topic covered by the manuscript will not be considered. Systematic reviews adhering to PRISMA guidelines and meta-analyses are welcome. The main focus of Experimental Parasitology is experimental approaches to investigating different aspects of parasitology, including, but not limited to, those encompassed by molecular tools, cell biology, and immunology. The journal predominantly publishes Original Research Papers in which experimentation is used to investigate the physiological, metabolic, immunological, biochemical, nutritional, and chemotherapeutic aspects of parasites and host-parasite relationships. In addition, the journal welcomes Method Papers that describe new approaches to such investigations and Review Articles (short reviews, full reviews, and systematic reviews) that provide critical evaluation of published articles on a theme within the scope of the journal. The journal Food Webs publishes original research articles, focused reviews and short communication papers examining the species interactions that structure ecological communities. This interdisciplinary journal encompasses both experimental and theoretical research that seeks a mechanistic understanding of the influence of these interactions on the composition of communities and functioning of ecosystems. As such, articles focus on a multitude of areas within the area of food web biology.These include, but are not limited to, the following: • simple trophic relationships and cascading effects between levels of a community • multi-species interactions and the structuring of populations and communities • effect of competition and co-existence of species in defining trophic relationships • effect of perturbation on species and interaction pathways • quantifying direct and indirect effects on populations • stability and productivity of food webs • empirical and theoretical assessment of food web structure and complexity • models explaining food web structure and trophic relationshipsFood Webs will consider papers from terrestrial, freshwater and marine systems, without any bias for the taxa being studied or techniques used

Sponsored by the Australian Society for ParasitologyThe International Journal for Parasitology publishes the results of original research in all aspects of basic and applied parasitology, including all the fields covered by its Specialist Editors, and ranging from parasites and host-parasite relationships of intrinsic biological interest to those of social and economic importance in human and veterinary medicine and agriculture. Original research includes the development of novel and innovative concepts and ideas, as well as experimental and observational science that raises new hypotheses.We do not publish new genome sequences and assemblies alone without new and significant insight into the biology of the parasite, the parasite-host relationship or mechanisms of pathogenesis. Because of its breadth of discipline coverage, the aims and significance of all contributions should be made clear to readers who are not expert in the particular subject of papers. In applied parasitology, it will tend to favour contributions of broader significance to the subject rather than narrow, highly specialised applications. The principal form of publication is the full length paper which contains substantial results from a major program of research. The Journal also provides a medium for the publication of shorter, but complete, papers reporting highly significant original findings, as Succinctus articles. It also publishes Thematic Issues incorporating papers on a topical theme and commissions papers with emphasis on shorter, focussed Reviews of topical issues and strategically important subjects.
