Journal of Vascular Surgery aims to be the premier international journal of medical, endovascular, and surgical care of vascular diseases. It aims to improve the management of patients with vascular disorders by publishing relevant papers focusing on investigation, management and prevention of aortic, cerebrovascular and peripheral arterial diseases, vascular access, trauma and malformations. The journal reports important medical advances, tests new hypotheses, and addresses current controversies. To achieve this goal, the Journal will publish original clinical studies, as well as papers that comment on the social, economic, ethical, legal, and political factors which relate to these aims. Heart & Lung: The Journal of Cardiopulmonary and Acute CareHeart & Lung, the official publication of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses, publishes original, peer-reviewed articles that advance the clinical and translational science of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, including care delivered in acute and critical care settings.We welcome submissions that focus on improving outcomes for patients with cardiovascular and/or respiratory conditions, across the continuum of care—from hospital to home, and from prevention to advanced disease management. Our scope includes clinical research, implementation science, quality improvement, and translational studies that bridge scientific discovery and clinical practice.The journal focuses on three major, integrated domains: cardiovascular disease (such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and structural heart conditions), pulmonary disease (including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary vascular disorders), and critical and acute care, specifically as it relates to patients with underlying or primary cardiopulmonary conditions.All manuscripts must clearly demonstrate a clinical and translational impact. Basic science, animal studies, or work in cellular or molecular models without direct human applicability will not be considered. Genomics and biomarker research are welcome only if the findings have clear translational relevance to cardiopulmonary care.The journal does not consider work in rehabilitation science, psychometric scale development, or workforce issues unless it is directly linked to improving outcomes in patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease.We encourage submissions from interdisciplinary teams, across diverse settings and populations, and from researchers around the globe. Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics is an international journal integrating experimental, clinical and social studies on aging. The journal provides a medium for the publication of papers from the fields of experimental gerontology and clinical and social geriatrics. The principal aim of the journal is to facilitate the exchange of information between specialists in these three fields of gerontological research. Experimental papers dealing with the basic mechanisms of aging at molecular, cellular, tissue or organ levels will be published.Clinical papers will be accepted if they provide sufficiently new information or are of fundamental importance for the knowledge of human aging. Purely descriptive clinical papers will be accepted only if the results permit further interpretation. Papers dealing with anti-aging pharmacological preparations in humans are welcome. Vision Research
An International Journal for Functional Aspects of VisionVision Research is a journal devoted to the functional aspects of human, vertebrate and invertebrate vision and publishes experimental and observational studies, reviews, and theoretical and computational analyses. Vision Research also publishes clinical studies relevant to normal visual function and basic research relevant to visual dysfunction or its clinical investigation. Functional aspects of vision is interpreted broadly, ranging from molecular and cellular function, to perception and behavior. Detailed descriptions are encouraged but enough introductory background should be included for non-specialists. Theoretical and computational papers should give a sense of order to the facts or point to new verifiable observations. Papers dealing with questions in the history of vision science should stress the development of ideas in the field.Vision Research publishes both reviews and minireviews. A minireview is not intended to be a comprehensive overview, but rather a survey of recent developments in a fast-growing and active area of vision research. Reviews and minireviews are generally invited, but proposals for either may also be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief.Visi... Research welcomes Letters to the Editor in response to articles published in the journal. A Letter considered for publication is sent out for review and at the same time forwarded to the author or authors of the published article. If the Letter is editorially accepted, the original authors are invited to write a prompt reply, which the reviewers of the Letter are also asked to review.Vision Research publishes thematic Special Issues covering well-defined and timely research topics. Special Issues are usually edited by Guest Editors with one or more members of the Editorial Board. Proposals for Special Issues should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief or a member of the Board. Human Movement Science
The journal is devoted to pure and applied research related to the science of human movement. It provides a medium for publishing disciplinary and multidisciplinary studies on human movement. It brings together psychological, biomechanical and neurophysiological research on the control, organization and learning of human movement, including the perceptual support of movement. The journal also encourages submissions from the fields of sport and exercise science and kinesiology provided that the work expands knowledge and understanding of human movement. This can include articles that focus on performance analyses, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. The overarching goal of the journal is to publish articles that help advance theoretical understanding of the control and organization of human movement, as well as changes therein as a function of development, learning, and rehabilitation. The nature of the research reported may vary from fundamental theoretical or empirical studies to more applied studies in the fields of, for example, sport, dance and rehabilitation with the proviso that all studies have a distinct theoretical bearing. The journal is less keen on work that is descriptive in nature or that has limited generalizability outside a specific population pool or sample. Also, we consider both systematic and meta-analytical reviews of human movement. Narrative reviews are by invitation only and are generally reserved for established scholars; please contact the Editor-in-Chief or the relevant Section Editor for a discussion.These aims and scope imply that purely descriptive studies are not acceptable, while methodological articles are only acceptable if the methodology in question can have a significant impact on the development of new directions in understanding the control and organization of human movement. The same holds for articles on exercise physiology, which in general are not supported, unless they speak to the control and organization of human movement. In general, it is required that the theoretical message of articles published in Human Movement Science is, to a certain extent, innovative and not dismissible as just "more of the same."Human Movement Science will consider hypothesis-driven analyses and exploratory analyses for which the need for exploration can be motivated; the exploratory nature of any such analysis should be clearly stated. In line with its commitment to publishing methodologically sound studies, Human Movement Science now offers the possibility to publish high-powered hypothesis driven research and high-impact replications as Registered Reports. Through pre- registration of hypotheses and methodology and results-independent editorial decisions, this article type neutralizes many questionable research practices incentivised by today's publish-or-perish pressures.In addition to regular issues, special issues addressing a single theme or topic will be published. The journal has now appointed a dedicated Section Editor to focus on special issues and invited reviews. The journal will look to publish 1-2 special issues per annum. In case of special issues, the above criteria may be softened if the guest editor(s) is (are) of the opinion that this will further the insight into the theme of the special issue in question. Special issues containing articles based on papers presented at conferences and workshops or consisting of a "target article" followed by peer commentaries are also admissible.- ISSN: 0167-9457
