An International Journal Integrating Experimental, Clinical and Social Studies on AgingArchives of Gerontology and Geriatrics provides a medium for the publication of papers from the fields of experimental gerontology and clinical and social geriatrics. The principal aim of the journal is to facilitate the exchange of information between specialists in these three fields of gerontological research. Experimental papers dealing with the basic mechanisms of aging at molecular, cellular, tissue or organ levels will be published.Clinical papers will be accepted if they provide sufficiently new information or are of fundamental importance for the knowledge of human aging. Purely descriptive clinical papers will be accepted only if the results permit further interpretation. Papers dealing with anti-aging pharmacological preparations in humans are welcome. Papers on the social aspects of geriatrics will be accepted if they are of general interest regarding the epidemiology of aging and the efficiency and working methods of the social organizations for the health care of the elderly.Benefits to authors We also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Experimental Gerontology is a multidisciplinary journal that spans all areas of gerontology, geroscience, and geriatrics, with an emphasis on studies focused on immune, endocrine, cellular, and subcellular systems, as well as studies focused on population-based, epidemiological, and basic aspects of age-related diseases, and interventional studies. The journal also publishes studies exploring functional, motor, cognitive, behavioral, and social implications of aging. Studies aimed at bridging the gap between mechanistic and clinical aspects of gerontology, such as papers on determinants of age-related conditions oriented toward the identification and validation of their biomarkers, are highly welcomed. Clinical case reports do not fall within the scope of the journal.Experimental Gerontology publishes original research, short reports, reviews and mini-reviews. Special Issues in which leading experts are invited to serve as Guest Editors to compile a collection of reviews and original articles around a particular topic are also published in the journal. Suggestions for Special Issues can be made to the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board Members and editorial office.
Neurobiology of Aging publishes the results of studies in behavior, biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, morphology, neurology, neuropathology, pharmacology, physiology and protein chemistry in which the primary emphasis involves mechanisms of nervous system changes with age or diseases associated with age. Reviews and primary research articles are included, occasionally accompanied by open peer commentary. Letters to the Editor and brief communications are also acceptable. Brief reports of highly time-sensitive material are usually treated as rapid communications in which case editorial review is completed within six weeks and publication scheduled for the next available issue. The accepted abbreviation for Neurobiology of Aging for bibliographic citation is Neurobiol.
