Pharmacological Research - Reports

Pharmacological Research - Reports (PREREP) is dedicated to publishing a wide range of topics in biomedical sciences that move the pharmacology field forward. It provides a venue through which researchers can rapidly communicate original investigation, with stronger focus on methodological rigor and transparency in reporting, rather than on the perceived impact of the novelty of the findings. PREREP is a sound-science journal, therefore novelty and perceived impact will not be considered in the evaluation process. However, the journal will focus on quality studies that advance our knowledge and will take measures to guarantee the replicability of the published material.

Our broad scope covers:

• In vitro and in vivo studies assessing the effects of bioactive compounds (synthetic or derived from natural sources) and their mechanism of action;

• Drug development (target identification and validation, PK/PD, preclinical and toxicological assessments);

• Experimental validation and new methods in pharmacology;

• Negative findings based on hypothesis-driven and well-controlled experiments;

• Studies focusing on reproducibility in pharmacology;

• Real world evidence on medical treatments;

• Case studies, Phase I and II studies

• Review articles with a systematic approach and/or critical appraisal of the published literature

• Research reports on educational initiatives in pharmacology

Pharmacological Research - Reports (PREREP) is an independent companion journal and a spin-off from Pharmacological Research (Pharmacol Res). It is part of the Pharmacological Research Family of Journals. PREREP has an independent editorial team, a different publishing model (hybrid), and will be indexed differently.
