Kidney International Case ReportsTM, an official journal of the International Society of Nephrology, is a peer-reviewed, open access journal devoted to publishing high-quality case reports and short clinical communications relevant to the care of kidney patients. Accepted case reports must be authentic, understandable, educational, and clinically interesting to a global audience of practicing nephrologists, other physicians providing care to kidney patients, educators, medical trainees, researchers, and allied kidney health professionals. Article categories include case reports, focused reviews, and short clinical communications, as well as editorials and commentaries, touching upon various aspects of kidney disease in adults and in children (e.g. glomerular disease, dialysis, diabetic kidney disease, kidney transplantation, acute kidney injury, acid-base and electrolyte problems). All articles should highlight:
Interesting clinical presentations
Diagnostic challenges or therapeutic dilemmas
Unique or novel pathology, imaging, or laboratory findings
Novel or interesting approaches to kidney care, especially from resource-limited settings
Consistent with ISN’s global scope and remit, the journal will actively seek submissions from authors around the world. Submissions from trainees and early-career faculty members are especially encouraged.
