The Journal of the Indian Chemical Society publishes peer-reviewed research articles, reviews, notes and communications in the major areas of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial and Applied & Engineering Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Soil Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, Sensor Science, Natural products etc.

Fundamental theoretical and Experimental research work in these areas of chemistry will be considered for publication.

Next to the regular issues, the Indian Chemical Society publishes thematic special issues containing invited scientific original contributions and reviews, conference proceedings of the Annual Convention (November-December) and honour issues. All special content will also be published after a thorough peer review process.

The Journal of the Indian Chemical Society is the official publication of the Indian Chemical Society, founded in 1924, and is published in collaboration with Elsevier.
