The Journal of Responsible Technology publishes cutting-edge research that investigates and analyses these questions, brings new insights and proposes relevant solutions to the challenges that technologies raise. The Journal of Responsible Technology welcomes papers that cover the broad range of topics that are relevant to this broad view of responsible technology. It welcomes contributions drawing from the range of disciplines across natural sciences, technology research, social sciences and humanities that contribute to our understanding of responsible technology.
The journal is open to a broad range of theoretical and methodological approaches. It is particularly keen to publish research with recognisable practical applications as well as literature reviews of the state-of-the-art. It covers research on factors affecting the design and use of technology, such as:
cultural and geographical aspects world-wide;
social, political, legal, and economic influences;
environmental, economic, and social sustainability;
social inclusion and diversity;
technology ethics, policy, and governance.
The journal is open to established as well as emerging research methodologies and willing to consider unusual and novel research formats, such as design fiction.
Some key features of the journal are an interdisciplinary and international editorial board, a full double-blind peer review process and a Gold open access publication model.
