Over the last two decades we have witnessed significant increases in the use of light metals such as Al, Mg, Ti, Li, etc. Furthermore, the consumption rate of these materials is continually increasing due to societal pressures for high performance, lighter weight materials, as well as due to growing demands for battery materials.
Journal of Light Metals will publish original work, which advances the knowledge base of light metals in the domains of processing, microstructure development, and resultant properties and performance. A subscription will provide readers with access to the LightMetals.net and four issues a year of the print journal.
LightMetals.net offers light metals researchers in academia and industry, on-line access to the world's light metals research and news. Papers will be published at http://www.lightmetals.netwww.lightmetals.net and in the Journal of Light Metals, to fulfil archiving requirements. The web component will also comprise additional abstracts, encyclopaedia articles, patents, proceedings, and relevant review papers from other print journals. A live link with Compendex generates additional suggestions of related research based on the keywords of papers appearing in the appropriate journal.
LightMetal.net's mission is to be the comprehensive and user friendly portal to the most recent knowledge base in Light Metals.
