Mission

JADA Foundational Science is a cross-disciplinary, open access journal dedicated to oral and craniofacial health. Our mission is to translate foundational discoveries into clinical contexts by publishing research that informs, supports or accelerates improvements in oral health care.

Scope

We welcome high-quality full-length original research articles and short communications, and invited reviews, that explore the biological, chemical, physical, computational and engineering underpinnings of dental and craniofacial health. Articles should emphasize scientific rigor, innovation and a clear connection to clinical or public health impact. We particularly encourage submissions that demonstrate how scientific insights can inform diagnosis, prevention, treatment, or behavior within the oral health ecosystem.

JADA Foundational Science serves as a platform for interdisciplinary scholarship, fostering dialogue between researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals. All manuscripts undergo double-anonymized peer review to ensure the integrity and impartiality of the editorial process.

The journal adheres to the principles of transparency and best practices as outlined by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/) and ICMJE (http://www.icmje.org/).

EDITORIAL POLICY

All statements of opinion and of supposed fact are published under the authority of the authors, including editorials and letters. They are not to be accepted as the views of the American Dental Association or its subsidiaries unless such statements have been expressly adopted by the Association. Articles are accepted with the understanding that they have not been published previously and that they are submitted solely to The Journal.
