Environmental Nanotechnology, Monitoring and Management is a journal devoted to the publication of peer-reviewed original research on Environmental Nanotechnology as well as Monitoring & Management of nanomaterials in the environment. Critical review articles, short communications, and scientific policy briefs are also welcome.

Nanomaterials are recognized as efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives for various environmental applications, supporting both resource conservation and environmental remediation. However, certain nanomaterials can also pose environmental risks, requiring precise monitoring and proper management.

The journal invites submissions in environmental nanotechnology encompassing both environmental applications and impacts of nanomaterials.

Contributions addressing monitoring and management must focus on nanomaterials in the environment. Contributions outside these aims and scope will not be accepted as of January 2026.

Examples of suitable submissions include:

  • Applications of nanotechnology in water and wastewater treatment

  • Applications of nanotechnology in soil, sediment, and groundwater remediation

  • Applications of nanotechnology in air pollution control

  • Applications of nanotechnology in sensing and monitoring environmental contaminants, particularly emerging contaminants

  • Novel nanomaterials supporting sustainability across the environment, agriculture, and energy systems

  • Novel nanomaterials supporting green chemistry, resource recycling, and a circular economy.

  • Novel analytical methods for measuring nanomaterials in environmental samples.

Fate and transport of nanomaterials in the environment.

  • Bioaccumulation, bioavailability, biodegradability, and toxicity of nanomaterials in the environment, as well as their impact on human health.

  • Management and legislation of nanomaterials in the environment.
