Current Therapeutic Research (CTR) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed Open Access journal focused on publication of the manuscripts related to the discovery, development, and use of therapeutics and interventions across all therapeutic areas and all therapeutic modalities. CTR has a long-standing history of publishing high-quality, rigorous, and ethically sound original research, whether the results are positive, confirmatory, or negative, with the goal of improving healthcare.
CTR promotes collaborative and interdisciplinary work with objectivity, criticism, creativity, innovation, and respect for cultural and professional diversity.
Indexing and Database Coverage
Articles published in Current Therapeutic Research are indexed by all major biomedical abstracting databases (e.g., PubMed/Medline, Clarivate, Scopus).
The target audience
The journal is read by scientists and healthcare professionals in various research, academic, and clinical practice settings regardless of their discipline or specialty.
The journal publishes in depth review articles, meta-analyses, commentaries, brief reports, case reports, research letters, and letters to the editor.
Topics of interest for CTR are related to:
Experimental medicine and therapeutics, translational medicine, clinical use of medicines and safe medicine use.
New or existing drug pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, pharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomic, personalized medicine and ethnopharmacology.
Clinical trials, drug disposition and effects, pharmaceutical medicine, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and toxicology.
Pharmacometrics: PK/PD modeling, PBPK modeling, clinical trial modeling and simulation.
Pediatric clinical trials and pediatric and maternal-fetal pharmacology and toxicology.
Evidence based -complementary medicine and therapies including natural or herbal medicines that complement or replace conventional therapies covering mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, costs, patterns of use and implementation. CTR will not accept studies on traditional medicines (e.g. traditional Chinese medicines, Kampo medicines, Japanese traditional medicines) or crude natural products, even if used as complementary therapy.
Studies relating to nutritional therapy, diagnostics and diagnosis, public health, quality of life, patient care, management, and education are also encouraged.
Interventions focused on all aspects of clinical therapy, including non-pharmacological ones.
Research may involve preclinical and clinical studies and utilize both in vitro and in vivo approaches.
Current Therapeutic Research promotes inclusion and diversity by considering submissions from all over the world, whether they relate to an international or a country-specific audience (e.g., a specific patient population).
