Current Problems in Surgery keeps readers up-to-date on the latest surgical advances. The Journal publishes across a variety of surgical specialties including surgical education and digital surgery, which is covered fully through a range of review articles and leading clinical and research articles. The Journal welcomes unsolicited submissions, and as of January 2025, the Journal is fully gold open access, meaning all articles are freely available for everyone to access and read. All articles submitted are subject to an article publishing charge (APC) after peer review and acceptance. Learn more about the journal’s open access options.

At the moment, we will prioritize topics within our Lead Editors specialties, which include: HPB, oncology, transplantation, dentistry & oral surgery, trauma, health disparities & health equity, and minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.
