Climate Physics and Atmospheric Science: Scientific Insights and Societal Challenges is an international, multidisciplinary open access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research on all aspects of atmospheric and climate science. Our mission is to advance the understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological components of the Earth's atmosphere and their interactions with the climate system and human activities. We aim to be a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, and the public, providing insights into recent advances and current understanding of atmospheric and climate phenomena at global and regional scales.
The journal will include the following sections-
Atmospheric Dynamics and Physics:
Studies on the dynamics, physics, radiation, and chemistry of the Earth’s atmosphere, including the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere.
Research on atmospheric circulation, clouds, weather systems, and synoptic meteorology.
Investigations into atmospheric energetics, numerical modelling, and forecasting.
Climate System:
Research that advances understanding of the dynamics and physics of the climate system, including variability of the atmosphere, oceans, land surface, and cryosphere.
Climate simulation Studies on past, present, and future projection changes in the climate system.
Research on the Carbon cycle and increase of CO2 and their impact on the future climate.
Studies on Greenhouse gas emissions
Air Quality and Pollution:
Studies of Aerosols, including the environmental, public health, and climate impacts of atmospheric pollution.
Approaches for the mitigation of atmospheric pollution.
Interactions with Earth Systems:
Studies on the interactions between the atmosphere and other Earth system components such as the biosphere, hydrosphere, and cryosphere.
Interdisciplinary Research on atmosphere–biosphere, atmosphere–ocean, and atmosphere–surface interactions
Investigations into the impact of natural and anthropogenic emissions on these interactions.
Environmental Change and Disasters:
Research on the causes, impacts, and mitigation of extreme environmental events, encompassing natural hazards, climate change impacts, and their combined effects.
Studies on the effects of atmospheric phenomena on human health and well-being.
Contributions addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and World Metrological Organisation, such as Climate Action, Good Health and Well-Being, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Advanced Techniques in Observation and modelling:
Laboratory studies, field measurements, remote sensing, modelling and data analysis, and machine learning applications in atmospheric and climate science.
Development and application of mathematical and statistical techniques to analyse the observed and modelled data sets.
Helio physics and Planetary Science:
An interdisciplinary study that investigates the atmospheres of the Sun and other planets, exploring a deeper understanding of Earth's atmosphere through broader context of planetary science and comparative studies.
By incorporating a broad range of topics within atmospheric and climate science, our journal ensures comprehensive coverage of this dynamic field. As a fully open access journal, we ensure that our research is highly discoverable and instantly available globally to everyone, promoting the dissemination of knowledge and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
