Description
Chem Catalysis is a selective Cell Press journal publishing significant advances across fundamental and applied catalysis, spanning chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering. The journal covers heterogeneous, homogeneous, and bio- catalysis and includes experimental, theoretical, and machine learning approaches.
We welcome work that advances fundamental understanding, establishes new catalytic concepts, reactions, materials, or performance, or opens important directions for the field. Research should go beyond incremental improvements and should instead provide broadly relevant insights, enabling approaches, or advances with significance beyond the system studied. Where relevant, papers should consider factors such as scalability, stability, efficiency, and costs, that highlight potential real-world potential for catalysts and catalytic systems.
Chem Catalysis is committed to transparent and reproducible science. We encourage rigorous reporting of methods, data, and experimental and computational conditions to support reproducibility of catalytic research.
Catalysis is a key pathway for improving the efficiency and sustainability of the production of chemicals and is central to advancing research in renewable energy, healthcare, and environmental science. We therefore ask authors to categorize their research into at least one of the following five Sustainable Development Goals identified by the United Nations:
Good health and well-being (SDG 3)
Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6)
Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7)
Industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG 9)
Climate action (SDG 13)
Chem Catalysis upholds the high-quality publishing standards associated with Cell Press and strives to publish exceptional research of broad relevance to the catalysis community, supported by a fair, rapid, and rigorous peer-review process led by a dedicated team of in-house professional editors.
