Cell Reports Methods is an open access, multidisciplinary journal from Cell Press publishing transformative methods, platforms, and analytical frameworks that advance how biological and biomedical research is performed.
The journal seeks studies that combine methodological innovation with broad scientific utility, enabling new biological insights, scalable experimentation, and cross-disciplinary discovery. We are particularly interested in methods and integrated computational-experimental approaches that are generalizable, reusable, and capable of accelerating research across diverse systems and applications.
We welcome papers describing enabling technologies, multimodal workflows, software and AI-driven approaches, community resources, and experimental or computational platforms that substantially expand the capabilities of the life sciences research community.
Cell Reports Methods publishes concise reports alongside full-length articles spanning areas including sequencing and imaging technologies, spatial and single-cell biology, genome engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning, biotechnology, synthetic biology, systems biology, proteomics, and scalable experimental and analytical methods.
We are committed to open science and scientific reproducibility. To promote these goals, we offer the following to our authors, reviewers, and readers:
· Opportunity to co-publish bench-top protocols through collaboration with STAR Protocols
· Application of the STAR Methods structure to ensure transparency and reproducibility
· Data and code required for reviewers at the time of submission
· Mandatory deposition of raw data at resubmission
