Description

AIMS AND SCOPE
Biorheology comprises the study of the response to deformation and flow of biological systems, or of materials directly derived from living organisms. It is the purpose of biorheological investigation to relate these responses to the molecular, cellular and structural composition of the biological system and to understand why this particular set of mechanical response characteristics have come to be evolved and selected in any specific case. Biorheology has as its prime objective to understand the link between the biochemical and biophysical structure of the biological system and its supermolecular organization, its mechanical response characteristics and its function in the context of the physiological requirements and constraints under which it is obliged to operate.
