Pushpesh Ranjan
Dr. Pushpesh Ranjan is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India, working under the supervision of Prof. Biswajit Saha. His research focuses on the synthesis of hybrid nanocomposites of ionic liquids with graphene materials and the development of electrochemical biosensors for detecting breast cancer, cardiac, neurotransmitter, and infectious disease biomarkers. Currently, he is engaged in designing and developing electrochemical biosensors and aptasensors for cancer biomarker and microorganism detection, as well as sensors for heavy metal ions and toxic chemicals.
Dr. Ranjan has extensive expertise in fabricating ionic liquid-based electrochemical biosensors for cancer and infectious disease biomarkers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Honours, a Master of Science in Chemistry, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences. He has over seven years of research and development experience across prestigious Indian research institutes, including CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal, IIT Indore, and IIT Gandhinagar.
He has published 22 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and contributed 23 book chapters in reputed academic publications. Dr. Ranjan has also edited a book on aptasensors for point-of-care cancer diagnostics. His work has been recognized through several national fellowships and awards, including CSIR-JRF, CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, and SET. His scholarly contributions demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing wearable biosensor technology for healthcare monitoring and diagnostics.

Biswajit Saha
Dr. Biswajit Saha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, India. He earned his PhD in nanomaterials through a joint program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Dr. Saha has industrial experience working with Procter & Gamble (P&G) Japan in formulation development and has held academic positions at Seoul National University, South Korea, and the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India.
His research interests focus on the fabrication, investigation, and application of smart materials and architectures. Dr. Saha develops smart-material-based wearable sensors capable of monitoring body movements and physiological conditions. He has also worked on biosensors for spontaneous detection of metabolites in biofluids, pathogens in aqueous media, and cancer biomarkers in patient serum samples.
Dr. Saha has published extensively in high-impact journals, contributing to advancements in wearable strain sensors, eco-friendly piezoresistive sensors, IoT-enabled stretchable sensors, and nanocomposites for water purification and supercapacitor applications. His work integrates materials science, chemical engineering, and biomedical applications to address real-world challenges in healthcare diagnostics and environmental sustainability.
