Description
Description
Organized into five sections, the book opens with an introduction to urinary incontinence, its sub-types, including stress, urgency and mixed incontinence, and their impact across the lifespan, before exploring the anatomy, physiology and mechanisms underlying the condition. It then covers the physical, mental health and psychosocial consequences of urinary incontinence. The book next addresses diagnosis and management, covering conservative, pharmacological and surgical approaches. Special attention is given to prevention in children, adults and older adults, including post-partum and post-prostatectomy incontinence. The final section looks ahead to emerging research and innovative therapies.
Integrating current epidemiological data, pathophysiological insights and cutting-edge treatment options, this book is a holistic, practical guide for urologists, gynecologists, primary care physicians, continence nurses, pelvic health physiotherapists and researchers working to improve patient outcomes.
