Marco Zeppieri

Dr. Marco Zeppieri was born in Ontario, Canada and currently lives in Udine, Italy. He graduated with a Degree in Biology from the University of Toronto, Canada. He completed his Degree in Medicine, Specialization in Ophthalmology, Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral in Glaucoma. He acquired his University Professor (2nd level) National (MIUR) Qualifications in 2018. He is a contact professor at the Department of Medicine, Surgery and Health Sciences at the University of Trieste. Since January 2008 to date, he has worked as an Ophthalmologist at the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital in Udine, Italy. His scientific interests include new techniques for the morphological and functional diagnosis of ocular hypertension and glaucoma, the use of stem cells for corneal wound lesions, ocular surface and lid diagnostics and treatments and community based screening procedures. He has participated as invited speaker at numerous national and international ophthalmology conferences. He is a Reviewer for numerous international peer reviewed journals.

Roberta Foti

Dr. Roberta Foti, is a rheumatologist at the Rheumatology Unit of the Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Policlinico San Marco in Catania, Italy. She is currently working as a clinician and completing a PhD at the University of Enna Kore.. Her clinical and research work focuses on autoimmune and inflammatory rheumatic diseases, including psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and interstitial lung disease associated with connective tissue disorders. Dr. Foti has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications examining the efficacy and safety of biologic therapies, contributing to multicenter studies and national registries like the Italian GISEA Registry. She is also involved in research on orbital inflammatory diseases and the application of stem cell therapies for ocular conditions. As part of the EUSTAR network, Dr. Foti collaborates with leading rheumatology centers across Italy, reflecting her active role in advancing clinical research and patient care in systemic autoimmune diseases.
