Description

Thermal Energy Storage for Industrial Decarbonization explores the critical role of thermal storage technologies in reducing industrial carbon emissions. This reference addresses the pressing need for sustainable solutions in industrial heat management, emphasizing decarbonization as essential to meeting global climate goals, and offers a detailed overview of thermal storage concepts, operational ranges, and innovative developments for researchers, engineers, and decision-makers in industrial energy systems.

The content spans state-of-the-art technologies across three sections: thermal storage fundamentals, including steam accumulators, molten salt, solid-material, latent heat, and thermochemical systems; operation modes for heat, cold, and electric energy storage; and industrial applications such as process steam facilities, heat pump integration, waste heat transformation, and facility electrification.

This book helps professionals evaluate suitable storage solutions tailored to specific boundary conditions, fostering more efficient, flexible, and environmentally responsible industrial processes. It bridges technological advancement with real-world application, serving as a vital resource for advancing decarbonization strategies, promoting cleaner energy use, and supporting the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, and 13.
