Hoang Nguyen
Dr. Hoang Nguyen is a highly accomplished lecturer and researcher at the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology in Vietnam. In 2020, he obtained his PhD degree from the Surface Mining Department at the Mining Faculty of the same institution. Dr. Nguyen's academic journey has taken him to various research institutions around the world, including Pukyong National University in Busan, Korea, and the Institute of Research and Development at Duy Tan University in Da Nang, Vietnam, as a visiting researcher.
With an extensive publication record, Dr. Hoang Nguyen has authored two books and over 100 papers that are indexed in renowned databases such as Web of Sciences (SCI, SCIE, SSCI). Additionally, he serves as an editor for several esteemed journals. His research interests encompass a wide range of cutting-edge fields, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, optimization algorithms, metaheuristic algorithms, advanced analytics, and their applications in engineering.
Dr. Hoang Nguyen possesses deep expertise in mining, blasting, geotechnical engineering, environment, natural hazards, and natural resources research. His contributions to the field have earned him recognition, such as the Young Talent Award in Science and Technology of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology in 2019. Furthermore, he has been acknowledged as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists in both 2021 and 2022, further highlighting his exceptional achievements in the scientific community.

Hai Thanh-Tran
Prof. Hai-Thanh Tran completed his PhD program at the University of Regina, Canada in 2001. Since 2002, he joined the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology as a lecturer of, and a researcher in, Geology. He has been designated the Tittle of Associate Professor of Earth Science in 2009 and then the Tittle of Professor of Earth Science in 2018. Hai-Thanh Tran is a pioneer in application of comprehensive and qualitative approaches as well as Plate Tectonic Theory and other modern thinkings to regional geological interpretation, tectonic modeling and restoration of the evolution of the Earth crust, the relationship between tectonics and Earth resources as well as natural hazards in Vietnam and environs. He is the author and co-author of more than 60 scientific papers and 6 books, including more than 30 articles published in international journals and proceedings.

Emmanuel John M. Carranza
Prof. Emmanuel John M. Carranza started his career as an Exploration Geologist/Geochemist at Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Philippines, from 1983 to 2001. He was a Researcher, from 2001 to 2003, and an Associate Professor with the Department of Earth Systems Analysis, International Institute of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, The Netherlands, from 2003 to 2012. He was an Associate Professor, from 2013 to 2016, and has been an Adjunct Associate Professor with the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, James Cook University, Australia, since 2017. He was a Visiting Professor with the Institute of Geosciences, State University of Campinas, Brazil, from 2015 to 2017. He has also been a Professor of geological sciences with the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, since 2017. His fields of expertise are geochemistry (for mineral exploration, ore genesis, and geo-environmental studies), spatial mathematics/statistics (for predictive modeling of mineral resources and geological hazards), and remote sensing for geological/mineral exploration. He has written a book Geochemical Anomaly and Mineral Prospectivity Mapping in GIS. He serves as an editor for several esteemed journals.

He furthered his education by earning a Master's degree from Paichai University in South Korea in 2004, and a Ph.D. from Yonsei University in South Korea in 2009. Currently, he holds a position at the Faculty of Geological Sciences and Geoengineering at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology in Vietnam. For his significant contributions to both teaching and scientific research, he was appointed as an Associate Professor within the Department of Exploration and Mining at the University of Mining and Geology in 2016. BUI Hoang Bac presently serves as the Head of the Department of Exploration Geology and leads the Hitech-CEAE Research Team at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. His research interests encompass applied geology, clay mineralogy, geostatistics, and GIS. Furthermore, he is the author and co-author of numerous publications and books related to these research areas.

Xuan Nam Bui
Prof. Xuan-Nam Bui received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in mining engineering from Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Vietnam, in 1996 and 2001, and the Dr.-Ing. degree in mining engineering from the Technische Universitaet Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, in 2005. From 1996 to 2008, he was a Lecturer at HUMG. He was appointed an Associate Professor and Professor at the Surface Mining Department, HUMG, in 2009 and 2018. Since 2024, he is a Visiting Professor at Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources. He is the author and co-author of 26 books, over 280 papers in international and national journals, and conference proceedings. His research interests include the advanced mining engineering, friendly environmental and smart mining, and the uses of AI in predicting impacts of mining and engineering activities on the environment for sustainable development. Prof. Xuan-Nam Bui was an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mining and Earth Sciences of HUMG. He is also a member of the Society of Mining Professors, Vietnam Minning Science and Technology Association, Vietnam Blasting Engineering Association and some editorial boards of reputed international and national journals.
