Viennent ensuite la prise en charge et les thérapeutiques avec, pour finir, les perspectives ouvertes par la recherche. Il met en lumière les points forts indispensables à connaître à chacune des étapes, la première consultation, le bilan à réaliser, les critères orientant la décision thérapeutique et les différentes options de traitement. L’approche est résolument pluridisciplinaire. Il revient à l’ORL, outre d’assurer le bilan auditif et l’orientation diagnostique, de coordonner cette pluridisciplinarité. L’implication du médecin généraliste est aussi une nécessité. Il se doit de connaître les prises en charge proposées pour pouvoir utilement épauler son patient aux côtés des différents intervenants concernés, auxquels ce livre donne la parole : audioprothésistes, psychothérapeutes, sophrologues, psychiatres, hypnothérapeutes, ostéopathes notamment. Cet ouvrage se veut avant tout pratique et didactique : les exposés sont complétés de nombreuses illustrations, qu’il s’agisse de graphiques ou de cas cliniques.
