Actualización de Terapia Anti-VEGF en enfermedades de la retina y coroides

El objetivo de la obra consiste en actualizar los datos de eficacia y seguridad acerca de la terapia anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) en las enfermedades de la retina y de la coroides. Esta terapia es la más utilizada en la actualidad en el tratamiento de la neovascularización coroidea (NVC), secundaria a la degeneración macular asociada a la edad (DMAE). La obra está dividida en 25 capítulos. Los capítulos 1-12 están fundamentalmente dedicados a la DMAE, revisando los principales ensayos clínicos con fármacos anti-VEGF, su aplicación en la práctica clínica y el estudio de terapias de combinación. Los capítulos 13-20 están dedicados al tratamiento con fármacos anti-VEGF de otras enfermedades, tales como miopía patológica, retinopatía diabética y oclusiones venosas retinianas. Los capítulos 21 y 22 abordan la seguridad de la terapia anti-VEGF, tanto a nivel ocular como sistémico.
