Dr Carine Briand is an Astronomer at the Observatoire de Paris-LIRA, CNRS, Sorbonne Université, Université Paris Cité, France. After obtaining a PhD in solar physics in 1994, she spent seven years as support astronomer at the optical THEMIS telescope (Canary Island). Coming back to France in 2004 she studied the interplanetary medium through space radio observations. She is now deeply implicated in ground-based radio astronomy, as co-leader of the KP-11 of NenuFAR, lead of the Nançay Decameter Array and lead of a VLF-receiver network. She thus studies the impact of solar eruptive on the interplanetary medium and ionosphere from radio instruments.
