Description

Solution and Interfacial Characteristics of Surfactants and Polymers and Their Industrial Applications provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles governing the solution, surface, and interfacial behavior of surfactants and polymers. The book explains how molecular structure influences physicochemical properties, self-assembly, micellization, adsorption, and interfacial phenomena, while integrating recent advances in synthesis, characterization, and theoretical understanding of these systems. Bridging fundamental science with real-world relevance, the book highlights a wide range of industrial and technological applications, including pharmaceuticals, drug delivery, wastewater treatment, petrochemicals, biotechnology, environmental remediation, food, cosmetics, textiles, and advanced materials. Emphasis is placed on sustainable, biodegradable, and eco-friendly surfactants and polymers, as well as emerging materials such as biosurfactants, ionic liquid surfactants, polymeric micelles, and multifunctional polymer systems. Edited by internationally recognized experts and featuring contributions from leading researchers worldwide, this volume serves as an authoritative reference for both academia and industry. It is designed for graduate and senior undergraduate students, researchers, scientists, and engineers working in surfactant science, polymer chemistry, colloidal and interfacial science, and related disciplines, offering both theoretical insight and practical guidance for advancing research and industrial innovation.
