S. Rehan Ahmad
Dr. S Rehan Ahmad is a multidisciplinary scientist whose research bridges microbiology, medicinal chemistry, neurobiology, and precision medicine. Earning his Ph.D. in Microbiology, his pioneering work explores the pharmacogenomics and microbiome-based modulation of neurodegenerative diseases, with a focus on plant-derived therapeutics and molecular docking-driven drug discovery. His research integrates molecular microbiology, analytical chemistry (HPLC–MS), bioinformatics, and nanobiotechnology to advance novel therapeutic strategies. He holds over 30 patents and has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, including Nature, Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, Frontiers and MDPI. He has edited two books published by Elsevier: The Gut Microbiome in Precision Medicine: From Research to Clinical Practice which focuses on the gut microbiome’s role in health, and Precision Medicine in Neurodegenerative Diseases: From Research to Clinical Practice, covering personalized medicine for neurodegenerative disorders.
His editorial experience is extensive, serving as Academic Editor for PLOS ONE, Editorial Board Member for over 15 international journals, and Guest Editor for JoVE. Recognized for his academic leadership, he serves as Coordinator of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Study Centre (28166), Centre Superintendent (28166), and Convenor of multiple institutional committees including the Research & Development Cell (RDC), Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPR), and Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education, Government of India). His teaching experience spans over 12 years in microbiology, neurobiology, medicinal biochemistry, food chemistry, and bioinformatics, mentoring more than 40 postgraduates and three doctoral researchers.

Myung-Joo Oh
Dr. Myung-Joo Oh is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic leadership in aquatic and biological sciences. His expertise lies in fish virology, parasitology, and aquatic animal health, with a strong focus on the molecular mechanisms of fish pathogens and disease dynamics in aquaculture systems. His research addresses critical issues in aquatic disease diagnosis, host–pathogen interactions, and fish immune responses, contributing to the sustainable management of fish health in both freshwater and marine environments.
He has played a significant role in fostering a research-intensive environment, supervising graduate students, and collaborating with national and international scientists on aquatic health and disease projects. He has contributed to the scientific community through publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and collaborative research on topics such as nervous necrosis virus (NNV) infection dynamics and co-infection studies in aquaculture species.
At Chonnam National University’s Aqualife Medicine program, Prof. Oh participates in curriculum development, graduate mentorship, and interdisciplinary initiatives that span virology, parasitology, and aquatic environmental science. His academic leadership and research excellence continue to support the advancement of aquatic animal health and sustainable aquaculture, strengthening academic ties within Asia and globally.
