Ali Akbar Firoozi

Dr. Ali Akbar Firoozi received a PhD in Civil and Structural Engineering from the National University of Malaysia in 2016. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Botswana, where he teaches soil mechanics, geomechanics, geotechnics, pavement and road design, and construction materials. He has also accrued experience in industry as project manager and designer. His research interests focus on the nexus between advanced nanotechnology and civil engineering, particularly on the use of nanomaterials for soil stabilization and other environmentally sustainable improvements.

Ali Asghar Firoozi

Dr. Ali Asghar Firoozi received a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2016 and completed a Postdoc fellowship at the University of Shiraz, Iran, in 2020. His research focuses on nanotechnology for the stabilization of cementation materials for next-gen civil engineering projects, design of industrial structures, equipment foundations, and road and pavement design. He has developed expertise in x-ray diffraction, x-ray fluorescence, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and energy dispersive x-ray analysis. He’s also actively involved in developing geotechnical software, including a comprehensive suite of programs for various projects, from tunnels to concrete and asphalt testing.
