Prof. Nils Lenhardt is an associate professor at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, specialising in sedimentology and physical volcanology. His extensive academic experience, coupled with his deep-rooted interest in sedimentology, makes him an ideal candidate to edit a book on quantitative sedimentology. Prof. Lenhardt’s research interests span across various aspects of sedimentology, including deciphering paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic changes by means of trace metal proxies and the impact of volcanic eruptions on sedimentary systems. He has also worked on hydrocarbon formation in volcano-sedimentary basins.
