Description

Propolis: Science, Innovation, and Healthcare Applications is a key reference for understanding the diverse applications of propolis in healthcare and industry. As a natural product derived from bees, propolis has a long history and notable potential in pharmacology and biotechnology. This book serves as a consolidated resource that brings together current knowledge, research, and developments related to propolis, including coverage of three types—Brazilian green propolis (BrGPs), red propolis (RP), and poplar propolis (PP)—making it valuable for both scholars and practitioners. The Table of Contents covers a broad range of topics, including the origin and formation of propolis, its chemical composition, and contemporary analytical methods. It also examines the biological properties of propolis, such as its antimicrobial, antiviral, and neuroprotective effects, along with information on regulatory standards and future research areas. Each chapter is structured to provide a balance of theoretical context and practical insights. Designed for academics, researchers, and industry professionals, the book offers detailed technical information and guidance on quality control and regulatory compliance. By addressing key issues in the commercialization of propolis-based products, this reference supports a deeper understanding and effective utilization of this natural substance.
