Graduated at School of Pharmacy from Universidade Federal Fluminense (1984), master's at the Chemistry Institute of University of São Paulo (1987) and Ph.d. on Organic Chemistry of Natural Products at the Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo (1991). Has experience in Chemistry, focusing on Chemistry of the Natural Products aiming the bioprospection of natural products with pharmaceutical potential, acting on the following subjects: propolis, pharmacognosy, antimicrobial activity, antiparasitical activity and development of validated analytical methods. Published 90 full papers on propolis and its botanical sources.
