Varaprasad Kokkarachedu

Dr. Kokkarachedu Varaprasad is Associate Professor in the Facultad de Ingeniería y Tecnología, Universidad San Sebastián, Concepción, Chile. He received his PhD (2011) from the Department of Polymer Science and Technology, India, and worked as an Investigator at the Advanced Polymer Research Center (CIPA). He completed three international postdoctoral fellowships, at Creighton University (USA), Tshwane University of Technology (South Africa), and Universidad de Concepción (Chile). His research centres on the bioactivity of biocidal hybrid nanomaterials for advanced biomedical applications, aiming to translate polymer and nanotechnology research into next-generation applications. He has published over 159 articles, including 2 patents, 5 books, and 37 book chapters, and has an h-index of 48. He has received 11 research grants, edited journal special issues, and belongs to several scientific societies. He is listed in Stanford University's Top 2% of Scientists Worldwide in biomaterials, nanoscience, and nanotechnology.
