Polymer, Metal, and Ceramic Composites Manufacturing offers a detailed comparative analysis of the various techniques that can be used to create these materials, from the conventional to the cutting-edge. It provides insight into the fundamentals of composite materials, covering their properties and applications, then discusses options for their manufacture, highlighting challenges, solutions, and best-use applications. Conventional techniques such as vacuum bagging, filament winding, powder metallurgy, solid state welding, and more are outlined. Additive manufacturing techniques covered include fused deposition modeling, stereolithography, selective laser sintering, digital light processing, and more. The book also provides a comparative analysis of these manufacturing techniques, discussing the material properties, manufacturing process efficiency, and environmental impact of both conventional and additive manufacturing of these materials. Case studies, quality control and testing methods, and future trends are each included as well.
