Dr. Sheng Chang is a Full Professor at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Water Resources Engineering at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering, with a specialization in membrane filtration, from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. From 2003 to 2005, he was an Australian Research Council (ARC) Postdoctoral Fellow at the UNESCO Centre for Membrane Science and Technology at UNSW. Between 2005 and 2010, he worked as an R&D Engineer with GE Water and Process Technologies, gaining extensive industry experience in water treatment innovation. Since joining the University of Guelph in 2010, Dr. Sheng Chang has established a robust research program focused on water and wastewater treatment technologies. His current research addresses the characterization and quantification of microplastics in wastewater and biosolids, anaerobic digestion for resources recovery, enhanced biological nutrient removal, and the advancement of aerobic and anaerobic membrane bioreactor systems. Dr. Sheng has successfully led and contributed to numerous funded research projects, collaborating with academic, governmental, and industrial partners.
