Donya Esmaeilpour is a Senior Research Associate specializing in nanotechnology for drug delivery, with a focus on material characterization, and targeted drug delivery in cancer treatment. She has a strong background in developing nanoscale drug carriers and investigating their interactions with biological systems to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Her expertise extends to characterizing advanced materials used in drug delivery systems and applying these innovations to improve the precision and efficacy of cancer treatments. Donya is dedicated to advancing targeted therapies and has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications in the fields of nanomedicine and oncology.

Mika Sillanpää
Prof. Mika Sillanpää obtained an M. Sc. (Eng) in Analytical Chemistry in 1992, followed by a Lic. Sc. (Eng) in 1996, and a Dr. Sc. (Eng) in 1997, all from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland. Throughout his career, he has held professorial roles at institutions such as the University of Oulu, University of Kuopio, University of Eastern Finland, Lappeenranta University of Technology, University of Jyväskylä and King Saud University. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at Aalto University and a Courtesy Professor at Florida International University. Currently, he holds the position of Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, Department of Chemical Engineering Technology at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Prof. Sillanpää's research focuses on chemical treatment in environmental engineering and environmental monitoring and analysis. More specifically, he has worked extensively with adsorption, photocatalysis, electrochemical treatment, membrane biological processes and advanced oxidation processes as well as ion mobility spectrometry, chromatographic methods, electrochemical sensor development and real-time monitoring.

Shuaifei Zhao
Dr Shuaifei Zhao is a research leader with rich R & D experience across Australia, Singapore, China and Japan in developing innovative membrane separation technologies for environmental and energy applications. He has been ranked top 0.2% in Chemical Engineering worldwide 2024 (155 out of 78314), and recognised as a top 2% scientist for 5 times (2020-2024, by Stanford University). He has also been recognised as a Best Rising Star of Science in Australia for 3 times (2022-2024, by Research.com).
His expertise and research interests include various separation technologies for desalination, water treatment, water reuse, resources (e.g. energy, metals and nutrients) recovery, carbon capture and utilisation, and energy generation. He is doing interdisciplinary research involving environmental engineering, chemical engineering and materials engineering.
