Mechanobiology and Mechanomedicine: From Fundamentals to Applications offers an in-depth investigation of the role mechanical stimuli plays in biological systems, from cellular behavior to disease development. Lifang Hu

Dr. Lifang Hu is an associate professor in the School of Life Science and Technology at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. She has an interdisciplinary background spanning mechanobiology, aging biology, bone diseases, cell and molecular biology and aerospace medicine research. She has a strong publication record, has previously edited one book and holds more than 10 patents. She was awarded the Outstanding Paper Award for Young Scientists by the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR). She is a member of the Chinese Society of Biomechanics, American Society of Bone and Mineral Research, and a lifetime member of International Chinese Musculoskeletal Research Society. Dr. Hu is the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Physiology and Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports and BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. She also serves as Guest Editor for Seminars in Cell and Developmental Biology and Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.

Airong Qian

Dr. Airong Qian is a professor in the School of Life Science and Technology at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. She specializes in biomechanics, mechanobiology, bone metabolism diseases, space biology, space biotechnology, and nucleic acid drugs research. She has a prolific research output, has edited five books and holds more than 20 patents. Dr. Qian is a council member of the Chinese Society for Cell Biology, member of the Chinese Society of Biomechanics, a lifetime member of International Chinese Musculoskeletal Research Society and a member of the Committee on Aerospace Medical Engineering and Space Biology, Chinese Society of Astronautics. She is the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Physiology and Editorial Board Member of Endocrine, Metabolic and Immune Disorders - Drug Targets. She has served as Guest Editor for Seminars in Cell and Developmental Biology, and Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.

Weiyi Chen

Dr. Weiyi Chen is a professor of the College of Artificial Intelligence at Taiyuan University of Technology, Taiyuan, China. His research focuses on ocular biomechanics and bone biomechanics, and the diagnosis and treatment of extraocular muscle disorders, keratoconous, high myopia, and osteoarthritis. He has an extensive publication record, has edited 8 books and holds more than 10 patents. Dr. Chen serves as standing council member of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering, Vice Chair of the Chinese Committee on Biomechanics and Fellow of the World Association of Chinese Biomedical Engineers. He is the Associate Editor of Journal of Medical Biomechanics and Editorial Board Member of Mechanobiology in Medicine and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Letter.
